What do you think about when the phrase spiritual giants comes up? For many people, a name like Billy Graham comes to mind. For me, one of those people is my Great Aunt Carolyn. She is one of the most Godly and sweetest women that you would ever want to meet. For many years, she has always served her God, family, church, and community. My aunt has made a difference in so many peoples lives, including mine! I am so fortunate to have her in my life. My grandmother passed away when I was young, my aunt took over the grandmotherly role for my sister and me and loved us as her own grandchildren.
Aunt Carolyn would never seek attention for the good work that she does for the Lord and for the people in her community. She would be the one rocking the babies in the nursery, cooking for the people in her community, or heading up the Vacation Bible School for the children in her church and her county but unless you knew her, you would never know. Aunt Carolyn taught me that is it more important to make sure that everything is taken care of behind the scenes than to get credit for all of your good deeds in public. God knows what you do and that is all the credit you need.
Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, my Aunt Carolyn goes all out to make sure that her family knows that they are loved. She always makes more food than we need. At Christmas, she makes the best holiday punch while she has a table to the side covered with appetizers and desserts. We are always full after dinner because we have eaten a lot and are now not hungry anymore. The best holidays in my life have been spent at Aunt Carolyn's house because there is laughter and lots of food.
Happy birthday Aunt Carolyn and I hope this is this your best birthday yet! Thank you for everything you do for everyone in your life. I know it is not easy an easy task. We love you so much!
Aunt Carolyn
