Christmas is my favorite holiday for so many reasons! It is a the time of year where we round out the year with the ones that we love the most and reflect on the many blessings of the past year. People celebrate Christmas in so different ways that is special to them. That is why this time of year is so special! In this blog post, I'm going to talk about me and my family's favorite Christmas traditions.I hope you enjoy!
The first Christmas tradition that my family and I do, is decorating our house! We put up all of the decorations and the tree! We always get a new ornament every year so that when my sister Hannah and I move out on our own, we will have ornaments to put on our own tree. We have so many different kinds of ornaments from over the years, that it is fun to look back on them every year! This is one of our favorite traditions.
my family and I love looking at Christmas lights! We have a neighbor that covers his whole yard with Christmas lights that do different actions. It is fun to look at and admire! There are so many people that put up Christmas lights that it is hard not to get in the Christms spirit when you look at them! Christmas lights are so beautiful that it brings the inner kid in me out and it never fails to do so!
Another favorite Christmas tradition is watching Christmas movies and listening to Cristmas music! I never get tired of watching the classic movies like Elf, The Polar Express, and A Christmas Story. On Christmas Eve, My family and I will make hot chocolate and watch those movies! I love putting on Christmas music when I am wrapping presents or decorating the house. It always gets me in the spirit! There is a reason why these movies and songs are classics!
I love exchanging gifts with family and friends! Even though receiving gifts is nice, it is even better giving gifts to others. I am one of those those people where it is fun for me to pick out presents for people based on their interests that I know that they will like! I also enjoy watching family and friends open their gifts that I picked out for them to see what their reastions are! I always take my time on buying presents for others because my friens and family deserve that! This is always something that I look forward to every year!
My absolute favorite tradition at Christmas time is spending quality time with family and friends where we eat a lot of food! On both sides of my family, we always have a huge feast and where there is plenty of food for everyone and there is even left overs afterwords! I especially like bakiling Christmas cookies and other desserts! My favoritw part however, is catching up with friends and family that I don't get to see very often. We get to see what everyone else has been up to lately! We never know how long you actually have with everyone in your family so, we should always try to soak up every minute that we have with everyone!
While we are doing our Christmas traditions this year, we can't forget to remember the real reason for the season! Jesus came down from Heaven to be born as baby so that one day, he could save us one day! That is the most important fact to remember at Christmas time! It it the ultimate sacrifice that anyone has ever done for anybosy so it neeeds to remembered! From my family to yours, We wish you and your loved ones, a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
