This weekend is Mother’s Day. Therefore, it is gives us a time of reflection of everything she has done for us. Mother’s Day allows us to celebrate the person who has always loved us, taken care of us, and been our number one fans since day one. I know for a fact, that I wouldn’t be the person that I am today without my mother. I figured that in honor of this special day, I would share some of my favorite memories of my mom.
My mom is not afraid to act like a kid sometimes. If we were at church camp or VBS, she would always take advantage of the energetic moments to dance or sing. Bringing out her inner kid is one of favorite things to do if given the chance. To be honest, she was usually a favorite among our friends. During the Covid-19 pandemic, my sister Hannah and I were making YouTube video lessons for our two-year-old’s that we taught at church. Mom always had so much fun helping us come up with different Video ideas every week. Mom was a great help.
During the holidays, our family loves coming over to our house, Mom and Hannah always cook so much food that there is plenty left over. Everyone always has something that they request, and we try to make everything that everyone wants One of the biggest things that is requested is apple cider. By the end of the day, the cider is gone. My mom is such a good cook and now she has taught my sister Hannah and others what she knows.
For the past twenty plus years, my mother has had to take care of our whole entire family between my health issues and my dad’s cancer struggles. My mom is the glue that holds our family together. Without her, our family would not be who we are today. To be honest, faith was always important to mom and that was her anchor during the hardest of times. Faith was the most important lesson mom passed down to me and Hannah. That same faith has also gotten us through difficult times in our own lives now.
On this Mother’s Day, make sure that you hug on your mom and thank her for everything that she has done for you. I am so grateful for the amazing mother that God has given me and my sister. I will also cherish all the memories that we have made together and the ones that we will make in the future. Thank you, mom, for everything you have done for me and Hannah. Happy Mother’s Day. We love you.
