There are times in life where you are minding your own business and then all of the sudden, a blessing is given to you unexpectedly. It is those types of blessings, that remind you why we are here on this earth in the first place. A lot of times these blessings happen when are struggling with something and you least expect it! Sometimes, I think God gives us these blessings to show us love when we really need it. Today was one of those times for me!
Today my Dad and I decided to go out to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch so we can have a father-daughter lunch date. It was just the two of us! We were so exited to enjoy a beautiful day together since we had not done it in a while. When we were sat at our table, there were 4 guys that were sitting next to us at the next table. We all ended up cracking up with each other and talking before it was over! At one point, one of those guys realized that our waiter was carrying a heavy burden on his shoulders so he asked if they could pray over him. The waiter was more than happy to recieve a free prayer! My Dad and I joined in the prayer over him by bowing our heads just as they were doing. After that guy ended the prayer, the waiter seemed different. It was as though a little bit of his burden had been lifted off of his shoulders! The waiter also prayed over us as well as a group. Our little corner of the restraunt felt like it was all of the sudden, the best and most holy seats in the whole place!
Shortly after the prayers ended, those guys left the restaurant. Little did my Dad and I know, that we were about to recieve another unexpected blessing. Our waiter came back later and told us that those same four guys that sat next to us, paid for our lunch when they paid for theirs. They would not let our waitor tell us about what they had done until after they had left the restaurant. Dad and I were flabbergassed! Four guys that we barely even knew was willing to pay for our expensive meal!
These actions today reminded me how important it is to be bold in my faith and paying it forward! How else are people going to hear about Jesus if we are not willing to be bold in our faith and do something nice for them? Dad and I were deeply touched by those blessings that happened in that restaurant today! I want to publically thank those four guys for the kindness that they showed me and my Dad, even if they don't read this post! We also promise to pay it forward to someone else so that they can also be blessed like we were!
What an amazing story! I love when God shows up in unexpected ways.
