Since we are celebrating Father's Day on Sunday, I have decided to write a blog post about my own dad. The people who know him best know that he is a huge Alabama football fan. He will even wear his jersey to church on Sunday mornings during football season. The ironic thing is, that his best friend is an Auburn fan. They love to pick on each other during football season!

One of my favorite childhood memories that I have with my dad is, after my sister Hannah would get out of basketball practice, he would take us out to get ice cream at Baskin Robin's. My dad knew that any time that he had with his daughters was precious and so he wanted to get as much quality time with us as possible. Everytime we wanted him to play hide and seek with us, he would only did it if we counted to ten in Japanese. If we had friends playing with us, we would have to teach them how to count along with us too.

My dad always expected me and my sister to do our best in everything we did. Now looking back on it, I realize that he did that because he believed in us even when we didn't and because he loved us more than anything in the world. My dad also taught Hannah and I how to be leaders. He would always say, "either lead or get out of the way". Now that I'm in college, I am starting to understand the importance of leadership in everyday life.

I know that I won't have my dad here forever but, I'm greatful for everyday that I get with him now. Besides, I've gotten way more days with him than I was supposed to get with him already. Happy Father's Day dad! I love you so much!
